Submission checklist
Before submitting your work for review, please refer to this checklist to ensure a comprehensive examination of your submission. Further details on specific sections can be found in the Guide for Authors.
Submitted materials must not be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere and must adhere to the ethical standards outlined below. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process involving feedback from experts in the respective field. The editorial board assigns two potential referees, and approval by the Editor-in-Chief is required for publication. Upon acceptance, articles will be promptly published with open access. In the event of ethical concerns, such as multiple submissions, false authorship claims, plagiarism, or fraudulent data use, the Editorial Board will take appropriate responsive measures.
Ethics of Survey
Submission of work is presumed to have adhered to globally accepted Social Science laws and the relevant country's regulations. Nevertheless, the journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts if there is sufficient cause to believe that requisite laws and procedures were not followed. Manuscripts reporting field studies on human behavior must explicitly state in the Materials and Methods section that the work received formal approval from the company/individual or official permission from relevant committees.
Plagiarism Detection
The International Journal of Applied Sciences and Engineering prioritizes publication ethics, aligning with the best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics. We rigorously verify the originality of submitted content using Turnitin, comparing articles against vast databases of published articles and web content. Submissions are screened upon receipt, and any deemed to overlap significantly with existing publications will be automatically rejected without appeal.
Statement for Competing Interest / Conflict of Interest
To ensure objectivity and transparency in research and ethical and professional conduct principles. The authors must certify that they have or have no affiliation with or involvement in any organization or entity with any non-financial interest (such as personal or professional relationships, knowledge) and financial interest (such as educational grants, honoraria, employment, consultancies, or other equity interest), in the subject matter or materials discussed in this manuscript. The funding source and conflict of interest statement must be included at the end before the references section. The names of funding organizations should be written in total, and abbreviations should be avoided. See below examples of disclosures:
Funding: This study was funded by X (grant number X).
Conflict of Interest: Author A has received research grants from Company A. Author B has received a speaker honorarium from Company X and owns stock in Company Y. Author C is a member of Committee Z.
If no conflict exists, the authors should state that they have no conflict of interest.
Relevant Permissions and Copyright and Access Policy
The author(s) must obtain permission for and acknowledge the source of excerpts from other copyright works. All approvals/consents from all authors, institutional ethical, and regulatory bodies should be obtained.
International Journal of Applied Sciences and Engineering provides free access to published articles. These articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 4.0 Internationals (CC BY-NC-4.0), which means that the authors have open access, including not only essential elements such as the right to read, download and print (non-commercial) but also the right to copy, redistribute (non-commercial), transform, search, link, crawl, and mine.
Covering Letter
The corresponding author should also submit a cover letter to submit an article entitled "Give the title of the article" and a statement of novelty in the present study.
Manuscript Types
Research Article
The submitted articles should be divided into the following sections;
(a) Abstract of approximately 150-200 words describing in a transparent but brief the background, methodology, results, and statistical analysis use, recent findings, and conclusion. The keywords (3-6) should also be indicated at the end of the abstract. (1) An Introduction stating clearly the purpose of the work done. (2) Literature Review and Hypothesis Development (3) Materials and Methods (4) Results (5) Discussion (6) Acknowledgment (7) References (8) Tables and Figures must be arranged/uploaded at the end of the manuscript.
Short Communications
Short communications/case studies should be concise, containing about 1500-2500 words or about 3 pages of the Journal, including illustrations, tables, and references. An abstract of 150-200 words should be included. The short communication should not have any heading or sub-heading. Only the abstract should be separated from the rest of the write-up. The total number of references should not exceed more than fifteen.
Reviews
Review articles are also welcomed. The authors should have a work background and are encouraged to consult the editor before submission. References to the books should be avoided in writing the review articles. The article must include an introduction, appropriate headings in the text, and a conclusion. It is the author's responsibility to ensure that about 40-60% of the references should be within five years of relevant work for each form of publication and that the submitted manuscripts comply with the journal format.
Copyright Transfer
A copyright transfer form concerning the author's contributions should be signed by all authors as requested. To give appropriate credit to each paper author, please specify the authors' contributions to the manuscript. Please upload the signed form to the system as a separate file. The journal will not accept authors who cannot provide fully signed copyright transfer forms upon acceptance.
Manuscript submission
Authors should submit their manuscript to the following Email address:
Title Page
The title page should include:
- Type of article, e.g., research article/review
- A concise and informative title in capital each word letter
- The FULL name(s) of the author(s) in the order of appearance in the manuscript
- Number of the table(s) and figure(s) in the manuscript
- The affiliation(s) and address(es) of the author(s)
- The e-mail address and telephone of the corresponding author
Text Formatting
- The only manuscript was written and submitted in Word (2007 or later) is acceptable
- Should have a one-inch margin on each side of the page
- Lines should be numbered as continuous line numbers
- Use a standard, plain font (e.g., 12-point Calibri) for text
- Italics may be used to emphasize specific points
- Automatic page numbering (bottom center) should be used to number the pages in the manuscript in Times New Roman font
- Avoid using field functions
- The line spacing should be 1.5
- Use tab stops or other commands for indent, not the space bar.
- To make tables, use the table function, not spreadsheets
- Use the equation editor or Math Type for equations.
Headings
Please avoid using more than three levels of displayed headings.
Acknowledgments
Collate acknowledgments in a separate section at the end of the article before the references. Do not include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title, or otherwise. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, writing assistance, proofreading the article, etc.).
Symbols and Abbreviations
Define abbreviations that are not standard in this field in a footnote to be placed on the article's first page. Such unavoidable abbreviations in the abstract must be defined at their first mention there and in the footnote. Ensure consistency of abbreviations throughout the article.
Footnotes
Footnotes to the text are numbered consecutively; those to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data).
References
Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard reference style of the journal. They should substitute the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication.' The citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication. In the text, the references should be cited in the APA 6th style with brackets at the end of a sentence or after the author's name before the full stop.
Tables
Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables can be placed either next to the relevant text in the article or on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively by their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in using tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.
Figures
Ensure each illustration has a caption—supply captions separately, not attached to the figure. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations to a minimum, but explain all symbols and abbreviations used.
Reprints
As the journal is available online, no hard copy will be provided to the corresponding author upon publishing his/her manuscript. The manuscript will be available free from the net and can be downloaded from anywhere. However, if required, the colored prints will be available upon payment.
